This website is inspired by the
following three quotes:
| Modern physics has reached a stage where we see
some footprints on the shore of the unknown - and these footprints are probably our own. Late
professor
of astrophysics John Wheeler, University of Texas
|
Ethics is probably
the most critical and challenging factor if man shall have a future and survive
on this planet. Professor of theology and pioneer of "Towards
a Global Ethic", Hans Küng, University
of Tübingen, Germany. |
The missing link between animals and the
real human being is most likely ourselves. Austrian professor of
biology and Nobel laureate (1973), Konrad Lorenz |

This web site contains some information about the
status of mankind and where we might be headed. The middle quote above is
probably the most important in the short run. How we treat each other and planet
Earth will decide the future our children must cope with. When the global
economy is controlled by a global ethics, will our chances for survival be
favourable. This site is an
example of how everything is connected to everything else. This is our
narrative and our foresight.
Internet is also a narrative about the future, abot
time and space dissolving into connectedness, processes and patterns of change. Internet
can be the beginning to Teilhard de Chardin's
"noosphere" as described by him
already during the 1940s. Reality may turn out to surpass even the wildest ScienceFiction
dreams. Thus, the other two quotes above come into play. However, that you
will have to discover for yourself.

This first button indicates that there is not ONE, but a
MULTITUDE of futures, depending on your own and mankind's collective choices. This
main theme also includes the fast changing world we are in the midst of, science fiction (which
is often close
to the reality to come), alternative thinking about the future and future
studies. |

Global
ethical values is the single most important qualification for future human survival, depending on
how we treat each other, all living beings as well as Mother Earth. Practical ethics is just another word for love (or
responsibility). In essence it means dismantling of barriers through
dialogue between ethnic groups, cultures, religions and nations making us all World Citizens. |
|
|
People need two things for building a better world: Knowledge and Love (Anatole
France). Science can give us necessary knowledge to understand the
consequences of our actions such that we do not destroy the future before it has
properly started. |
|
|
It is said that man has a
spiritual instinct which has been satisfied in the past by the
many religious constructions we know of. In the future religion as we know it may disappear altogether. Also "spirituality"
is taking on new meanings. Such strange things as uniting
science and religion may happen. There may be many religious "Berlin walls"
that will fall. |
|
|
Here is a story og more than Darwin. Past
and future in the light of recent research may give evolution a very
different and extended meaning than what we are used to. |
|
The most important parameter for how the
future will turn out is consciousness. There are many opinions of what C
really is, and an overview made by Ken Wilber is a starting point. |

You may not find the purpose of YOUR life here. However, searching for life's
meaning has its own value, if you do not immediately accept the first
simple answer you may get from a self proclaimed authority. |
